Mon April 25 at 7:30 PM, [Please EMAIL for directions.]
119 Macdougal St, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
Interested in good conversation? Exploring ideas? Reading the odd article to jumpstart a thoughtful exchange? Then join us for the next Salon—now in Brooklyn—on Monday, April 25, 2016.
This month we'll be talking about lies, lies and more damned lies. Nope, not politics, but rather when a fact is a fact, what data has to do with it, and whether truthiness isn't more apt than ever.

Atypically, there are two articles this month:

After the Fact by Jill LePore at the New Yorker, and
Terrifyingly Convenient by Will Oremus at Slate.

If you want to attend, please email me at NewSalonNYC@gmail.com for directions to the meeting. Because the event is always hosted at a private residence, please include a brief self-introduction in your note. If you can't attend this session, but would like to be on the Master List to keep up on future Salons, let me know when you write. Otherwise, make clear that you're RSVPing if you want to come this time.

Finally, note that the Salons are fairly loose in structure. Though we mostly tend to keep on topic, we don't always. And although conversation is usually based on the articles, not everyone reads them. So if you're curious, but shy, just tap out a brief note to get involved. We're a friendly bunch, always on the look out for more clever Mefites and their friends.

Hope to see you there!
