First Wednesday of August is coming up quickly (though not as quickly as it might feel it should because there are 5 Wednesdays in July)
Once the wait is over, let's go to the Billy Goat (430 North Michigan Avenue) and then maybe the Blue Frog . (676 N LaSalle)
Rumor has it we might have some visitors and some new folk and I'm on vacation next week, so fun will be had.

Bron, you'd be hard-pressed to miss us. We usually sit to the left of the grill when you walk in, and many of us have pictures in our profiles. Feel free to be as social or not as you like.

Hey newcomers, it's good to know that the Billy Goat is on the lower level of Michigan Ave. If you go east on Hubbard it's pretty obvious. If you find yourself on the upper level of Michigan, there are stairs going down.

i'm not sure board games really work well in this kind of situation, where people are trying to mingle and the table gets too long to do so without playing musical chairs once in a while. especially where there will be visitors and n00bs--personally i'd rather just talk and get to know people. that said, i won't protest if people want to go off in a corner to play.
p.s. it's today! tiny beers, today! yay! visitors and n00bs! woo! i won't be there first but hopefully by 6:30 or so.

we leave the billy goat around 9, and get to the blue frog 15 minutes later. These times are approximate depending typically on when eamondaly calls last call and starts herding us out the door.

This afternoon I was watching the David Lean comedy Hobson's Choice, which opens with drunk old man Hobson stumbling through the streets. When he reaches home, his eldest daughter comes home to haul his drunk ass upstairs and says "Good job your Masons meeting's only once a month." I find the timing of my viewing of this amusing.

I bailed before the Frog portion of the evening, as it was a school night for me (and I was running low on extrovert juice), but I had a very nice time meeting those I met. +1, would attend again.
