Fri November 19 at 8:00 PM, 92YTribeca
200 Hudson St, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
This is a monthly screening/exhibition inspired by the Meet The Lady tumblr blog (a former MetaFilter Project and FPP). The show consists of film/TV clips, live performances, and ribald entertainments presented variety-show style, hosted by yours truly. This month we're meditating on the ubiquitous Makeover Montage.
A panel of fashion experts (including mefites ThePinkSuperhero and kkokkodalk) will be on hand to comment on clips presented by, among others, zoomorphic and Help, I Can't Stop Talking!
92YTribeca is walking distance from the A,C,E,1,N,Q,R, and W trains. There's a cafe attached to the screening room that sells food, beer, and wine which you can bring into the screening room. Let's hang out!

In this particular show our experts take the form of a posse of "Mean Girls" so you are SOL my friend. However I am frequently looking for unique voices in the form of clip presenters, so we should talk sometime :)

I just dropped some mad cash on cosmetics, including two 88-color eyeshadow palettes, so I'm mentally ready for this.

Just found out that our special guests this time will be playwright/film historian John Epperson (whom is also the drag legend Lypsinka, and whom ALSO has a small role in the new Darren Aronofsky film "Black Swan") and Peculiar Beauty blogger/author Bonnie Downing.
I'm tired in advance! But greatly looking forward to seeing my metafriends.

Honestly I was so glad to see so many of you there tonight, it really made my heart swell.
Also, I think us mefites charmed the pants off of John Epperson, I wouldn't be surprised if he pops back in next month. There was this moment when he was playing the piano and TPS was singing along and I thought "Holy shit, this is the most amazing night ever."

oh god yes. I should get the DVD and do a screening as soon as I'm moved in here at my new apt.
griphus, were you there and we just totally failed to met? Or did we meet and I not get your handle? Silly real names.

Meanwhile, is there an exam or something to join your dastardly league of fashion experts? Oh god who am I kidding I just read my girlfriend's roommate's Vogues and Marie Claires once in a while.
