Fellow MKEers, let's get together and rejoice! With summer winding down, it seems like an ideal time to get together and do something fun!
EDIT: We'll be meeting at Nessun Dorma (2778 N Weil St.) on September 5th at 7pm. See you there!
I'm very new to town, so I'm not sure about the best place to meet, but Camp Bar in Shorewood might be a good bet. I'm very open to suggestions, of course. Maybe we can shoot for late next week, like on the 4th?
I have a VERY IMPORTANT THING on the morning of the 5th so I can't be out drinking on the 4th. But the weekend is totally cool! This weekend is cool too though it might be short notice for a lot of people.
Nessun Dorma is definitely good for low key chatting. Food's pretty good. I'm not sure I'd want to try it with more than 4-5 people though.
I also that tiki bar place we went to (Foundation). I recommend having some food in your stomach first, they do not fuck around when it comes to the amount of alcohol they use.
Since you're new to the city, you'll definitely have to go to the Safe House at some point, but it's best experienced 1) with a group of people you already know and 2) when you want to get trashed. Not a good first meetup place.
I will try and wrangle the rest of the MKE group, such as it is.

Indeed. How does 7 at Nessun Dorma sound to you? (I still like Foundation, but I'm going to have to eat if I'm drinking.)

I think this whole upcoming weekend is open for me, so once we decide on the wheres and whens, I can answer with more certainty, but I should be there.
Also, (and I can't believe I'm saying this) I'm a Safe House VIO, and even though I haven't been there in probably 20 years, I still have the card. So, you know, you'll be greeted as heroes. (Or forced to do terrible things to get in, depending on which side I show them. But then, that is the power and responsibility that goes with carrying a small plastic card on you.)
[on edit; I agree that it is non-optimal for a first meetup, but consider it for a later one. It's filled with wonder and stuff. Also lots and lots of booze. But then, I repeat myself.]

There's a way to flip this post from Proposed to Confirmed so that it shows up on the calendar, but without creating a test event I'm not sure how to do it. It's nice because it also shows a map and lets you add it to your Google Calendar or iCal with a click. This might bring it to the attention of a few more people who don't look at proposed events.

Well that was fun! I had to bug out earlier than I expected (Yes, because I'm old, damnnit.), but I hope everyone made it home ok.
Desjardins, divined by radio, it was always nice to see you again, and for the rest it was great to meet you.
We really should do this sort of thing more often. I suspect once we got past my social anxiety, you would get to see the real crazy come out... though it's not much different than the normal me, I just lie more colorfully.
