Second leg of my trip, I am going to be in Sydney starting on the 7th and have no current plans setup to do anything over the weekend. Would either a drinkup or an afternoon meetup on the 8th be of interest to anyone?
Canceled unless other folks show up.
Oh I would love to, but now we have a 1 month old in addition to the 2 year old, I cannot in good conscience leave my poor partner for the time it will take to trek in and back from the burbs. Darn it, would be nice to have met you!

I too am away I'm afraid (funnily enough visiting family in Brisbane). I would like to make a correction though b33j, mathowie did in fact pick up the tab.

I'm staying in the CBD area, have no plans for that Saturday, and am willing to take transit to most places.

I'm keen, I can do Saturday or Sunday. There are plenty of nice places to go in the CBD - but given the gorgeous weather perhaps something in the Rocks to get the lovely harbour view?
The Lord Nelson is a lovely old school pub, with decent food, and excellent micro-brewed beers. The Glenmore has a nice roof garden with a spectacular view. We wen their for a meetup last year though.
Many of the cool bars in the CBD proper are underground. There are a couple that might be good for an afternoon - perhaps The Rook, a somewhat hidden rooftop bar.
Plenty of options in Surry Hills or similar.

Freeish Saturday and Sunday, unless it's super sunny, and the stars align, and my friends are not working, in which case I'll probably go to the beach.

Yeah, it's pretty nice - haven't tried the lobster rolls there but they look good.
