Hey guys! So I'll be traveling from the U.S. to London in December on a wonderful combination of business and pleasure and would love to meet some Mefites.
Date: Thursday, December 19th
We're going to meet at 6:30pm at a great fish and chips place, Fryers Delight, for dinner.
I'll show up smothered under warm clothing, essexjan will be there--it's going to be awesome. If you want to join, reply here by Wednesday the 18th, 5pm, so that we know to expect you.

Near Hyde Park, close to the Science Museum. But the itinerary has loosed up a bit, and I'm up for traveling a ways if the preference is closer to the British Museum side of town.

That works for me. In terms of dates, it looks like Thurs the 19th, Fri the 20th, or Sat the 21st would be best, anytime from noon on.

Yes, Bloomsbury is better for me. Any of those dates is good, but I can only manage the evening on the Thursday or Friday, due to work commitments.
tooloudinhere - would you be interested in trying the best Fish & Chips in London? There's a fabulous old-school fish & chip place in Bloomsbury, with lots of great pubs nearby.

Essexjan, Fryer's Delight looks totally great! Would definitely be up for that on Thursday or Friday evening.

The last Friday before Christmas is likely to be a nightmare, with every pub packed to the gills with people who are likely to be pretty drunk. Shall we make it Thursday? If we meet at Chancery Lane Station (Central Line) outside Robert Dyas, it's a five minute walk from there.
Name the time, and then we can formalise it and post the details.

Oh, Robert Dyas is a big hardware store on the corner of High Holborn and Gray's Inn Road, right outside Chancery Lane Station.

BTW, Fryer's Delight has no customer bathroom (it doesn't serve alcohol, so legally it's not required to provide a restroom), so make sure you use the facilities in a nearby pub before we have dinner.

Drat, I live right by there but I think I have a work christmas do that night. I might be able to swing by later. Are there plans for a post fish and chip pub meetup? The Lamb was pretty good for the last London meet I went to and is only 5 minutes walk away.

Warning : I am coughing like a miner with blacklung - but I don't have a virus, I'm suffering from the after-effects of smoke inhalation from a wood fire. So apologies in advance if I have the occasional coughing fit. But you're not in danger of getting some kind of lurgy from me.
