PDX November Game Day

Sat November 16 at 3:00 PM, Sibrax's House
13807 Southeast 28th Street, Vancouver, WA, USA (Map & Directions)
JS Joust! K2! RoboRally! Card games! Board games! Wii U! Many options! All are welcome!
Snacks will be provided. Depending on the time and number of people, we will work out a plan for dinner when necessary. Carpooling is, once again, probably your best bet for getting up to Vancouver, but if there's anything I can do to help with transportation, let me know.

I think any weekend is good for us right now. Maybe the 9th or 10th?

I object!! What excuse will I have to clean house now??

Kidding. At the moment any weekend is fine with me.

November 2nd is out, but all other dates are still free.

Not the 2nd and not the 30th. Hyperbole and a half will be in town on the 2nd and Thanksgiving is the 28th this year.

2nd/3rd is also not good for me (one of those days is a field trip that can't be missed, but I don't know which one!)
posted by Secretariat at 10:41 AM on October 27, 2013

Ok, so it's probably down to the 9th/10th or 16th/17th. Any of those dates a definite no?
posted by Sibrax at 2:36 PM on October 27, 2013

16/17th are best for me.

The 16th and 17th are still open for me.
posted by mimo at 8:16 AM on October 31, 2013

I think that will work. Shall we say Saturday the 16th at noon?
posted by Sibrax at 12:09 PM on October 31, 2013

I wouldn't be able to make it before about 4pm or so, but don't let me stop you if that works for everyone else.
posted by Greg_Ace at 12:45 PM on October 31, 2013

Oh, would you rather do Sunday? It doesn't sound like anybody has a preference.
posted by Sibrax at 4:42 PM on October 31, 2013

Early doesn't work for me in general on weekends, but don't switch things on my account. Let's see what others say.
posted by Greg_Ace at 4:51 PM on October 31, 2013

Earlier is better on Sundays because that gives plenty of time to still have Sunday evening at home preparing for the week. Later start times on Saturday are slightly preferable because then I can get all my Saturday chores and errands done before I go out for a relaxing time and don't have to worry about popping out of bed the next morning. That's how things work for me anyway.
posted by mimo at 8:15 AM on November 1, 2013

That makes sense. What if we start later on Saturday, like 2 or 3?
posted by Sibrax at 11:12 AM on November 1, 2013

3 sounds good if that's not too late for you guys.
posted by curious nu at 8:26 AM on November 3, 2013

Works for us. I'll give it another day or so and then lock it in.

I was looking forward to this, but life happened.

It's faster to bike than bus. Anyone feel like bikepooling from North Portland area?
posted by aniola at 10:55 AM on November 11, 2013

I'm going to have to bow out of this one. See y'all next time.
posted by Greg_Ace at 8:40 AM on November 12, 2013

Aw, that's too bad. Sounds like this will be a small gathering.

If anyone does decide to bike up, I wish you luck, and I hope the weather cooperates.
posted by Sibrax at 1:15 PM on November 12, 2013

aniola, if I remember right you guys live just a couple of blocks from us? We're planning on driving and we'll have 2 empty seats... send me or cortex a mefimail if you want to coordinate. Just something to keep in mind if the weather turns awful!
posted by Secretariat at 2:07 PM on November 12, 2013

(Or for that matter, if there's anyone else who will be in the N Portland area who needs a ride, let me know. Our path is basically N Lombard -> I-5 North -> Hwy 14, so we're not really passing through any other parts of Portland. I think there's technically 3 seats in the back seat.)

Unfortunately I must bow out, too.
Big homework assignment in one class, and a term paper in the other.

I may have two guests! But they're a maybe.

Should we bring some food or something?
posted by Secretariat at 10:41 AM on November 15, 2013

You can bring food if you like, but you don't have to. We'll have snacks ready, and then we'll decide on dinner once we get a final head count.
posted by Sibrax at 11:04 AM on November 15, 2013

When we get that far I hope we can play a clip of Gob doing illusions to the synth hook from The Final Countdown.
posted by cortex at 11:16 AM on November 15, 2013

Can do.
posted by Sibrax at 3:59 PM on November 15, 2013

aniola and I will most likely be there.
posted by sibilatorix at 10:23 PM on November 15, 2013

Cool, are you still planning on biking, or did you find a ride?

Oh I should also mention that the dog will be here this time, hope that's ok with everybody.
posted by Sibrax at 8:48 AM on November 16, 2013

We ended up catching the bus because we had a Vancouver errand so it worked out. Muchas gracias for the offer/offers of car rides. Someday maybe we'll get a bike pool going :)

Hurray, a dog!
posted by aniola at 2:07 PM on November 16, 2013

We're en route, about 10 min? Maybe less.

Yay dog!
