March 20th, Tired Hands: Drink all the beer, Main Line?

Wed March 20 at 6:00 PM, Tired Hands Brewing Company
16 Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore, PA, USA (Map & Directions)
Obviously it's Philly Meetup Day on IRL, so would anyone be interested in heading out this way for beer, company, and platters of delicate meats and cheeses sometime on a weekday in March? Confirmed: March 20th, at Tired Hands in Ardmore-- 6ish
Beer, carbs, people! If April would be better given the cornucopia of events in Philly proper, let me know.

Always! My weeknights are pretty open right now - I can't do the 27th, but just about anything else works for me.

2nd, 12th, and 15th are my only conflicts. I like Wednesdays, always!

Yes, yes, yes! Fridays are busy, and the 13th & 21st are booked, but otherwise the rest of the month is free.

Yes, a weekday would be great!

My schedule's getting kind of packed, but I'd like to go if it works out!

Hooray! Wednesday have worked well in the past, so would the 20th do?

20th would work for me.

Man, we had a nice run of comments with exclamation points going there.

In-laws are coming for a few days, but I think they're leaving the 20th, and if so, should be able to make it.

The 20th works for me! Exclamation point!

What venue(s) are in the plan for the evening?

Haha, sorry! We have been doing these at Tired Hands in Ardmore, which is close to public transportation and parking. It is also full of delicious bread and beers. I am totally willing to mix it up though if there are other suggestions!

Im up for coming out for a bit, but not super late, since i have to catch trains home
posted by TheAdamist at 4:45 PM on March 11, 2013

A bunch of us come out on trains from the city and ride back together on the 7:30 or 8:30 train. We don't make a super late night of it. Glad you'll be joining us, TheAdamist!

I am trying out that nifty new alert feature (we won a pony!) so let me know if that worked, I guess? Anyway, yes, we are a very low-key group and you can come for as long (or as little) as you like! I think I'll probably be there by 5:40 or so and I'll be the one talking in all exclamation marks, I guess.

I am unable to make this. Have fun, and see you next time!

So I'm definitely bringing my growler for a refill. The question is... should I get another growler too?
posted by SpiffyRob at 8:13 AM on March 13, 2013

I'll have my growler as well, but two? Well, maybe if I got really lucky with what they have on tap when we get there.
posted by MikeKn at 1:16 PM on March 13, 2013

I'm a hard maybe as my work hours changed so I wouldn't get there until close to 7 and I leave for PAX East the next day but we'll see what happens.

Turns out the in-laws are staying until Thursday. Trying to gauge how mad they be if I blew them off Wednesday night to come, but now I'm a slightly-less-likely maybe.
posted by SpiffyRob at 4:52 PM on March 13, 2013

Maybe you could alleviate their anger by bringing them back beer?
posted by MikeKn at 8:16 AM on March 15, 2013

Well that would pretty lock in the need for the second growler.
posted by SpiffyRob at 9:24 AM on March 15, 2013

What time are folks getting there? I work about 10 miles away so I'm looking at fairly close to 6.

I usually take the 5:44 train out of Suburban and get to Tired Hands around 6:15. I think jetlagaddict usually gets there early to hold down the table, though.
posted by jessypie at 1:55 PM on March 19, 2013

Yep, going, will probably be there around 6:45ish. Please keep me informed of the candied bacon situation.
posted by Diskeater at 2:14 PM on March 19, 2013

It's a hard, hard job, being there early and eating all the bread, but someone's got to do it.

Some updates from their facebook:

Bokonon is ON TAP today! A reverent Brown ale well-hopped with Chinook and Simcoe. 6.9% abv.

MagoTago is ON TAP today! Brewed with a touch of wheat, lots of our favorite mango-forward hops, and 90lbs of fresh mango. 7.8% abv.

They are also now doing 1 ounce portions of their cheeses and meats for very tiny and adorable platters; also, rotating cheese panini. Also it looks like the chalkboard is slightly more legible.

Updates on bacon will be provided as soon as there is breaking news on the bacon front!

I am considering coming in spite of (or perhaps because of) my midterm the following day.

Sorry guys, it's a no-go for me. Have fun, I'll catch you next time!

I'm here early - sitting at the bar for now. They have the candied bacon.
posted by MikeKn at 2:35 PM on March 20, 2013

SOMEONE TELL CASEY TO GET ME ALL THE BACON THIS IS IMPORTANT.
posted by Diskeater at 2:39 PM on March 20, 2013

If all the bacon is gone when I get there (which is who knows when THANK YOU traffic), I will be disappoint.
posted by DoubleLune at 3:05 PM on March 20, 2013

I'm here. Upstairs or downstairs?

I'm still under the weather, and won't be out tonight. My friend Rob is a bartender there - say hi to him for me if the opportunity presents. Cheers.
