Sat December 8 at 8:00 PM, The Stage Door
28-30 Webber St, Lambeth, London, Southwark, London, Greater London SE1 8QA, UK (Map & Directions)
OK, I've done this half-hearted self-promotion on Metafilter before, and people encouraged me to post if I was doing another gig (and it's taken this long to get one) - I'll be playing a thirty-five minute set, probably at about 9:15 at The Stage Door in Waterloo (behind the Old Vic, nearest tube Waterloo). Free entrance.
Not sure if there's anything else to say, really. All original material. Usually quite nice beer on, and there's a chatting side of the pub, for people who want to chat. As I say, I'm probably on at 9:15, though the evening begins at 8:00 (hence the time discrepancy, as discussed before). Also, sometimes the performers are moved about to retain larger audiences for longer, something of which I'm not sure I approve, but which I do understand.
Beer and chat, though, anyway. And other performers.

I might be in London - what kind of a gig thing is it?

I might show up with a +1 if I can convince said +1 to do this on Saturday.

That's reasonably feasible for me, and I don't have any plans, so I could well make it.

For your further information:
It's three sets of singers + guitar (or possibly piano), though I must confess I don't know what the others are like.
I'll be there from seven to sound check.
I'm on in the middle - at 9:00-ish - thirty-five minute set.
It's in the body of the pub, so performers are on one side, and the other is for sitting and chatting.
If anyone does come, please say hello - I'm astoundingly bad at faces and stuff, and having the guitar should make me easier to spot.

I'm doing nothing otherwise, so count me in.
Although to warn you now, I'll be sorely disappointed if there's not at least one reference to the Treaty of Westphalia in your lyrics.

I will be there in spirit, and wish I could be there in person. Break a leg!

Right. I'm just about to leave and do a sound check. If anyone drops by please say hello, I'll be very glad to see you.
It is interesting to me to report that the social anxiety I feel from having invited people to something far exceeds the performance anxiety I feel from having to do it.
By the way, I think it would be a very good idea to organise a gig comprised of MeFites.
