As detailed in this recent post on the blue, Houston, TX's only independent, free-form radio station is in grave danger of having its transmitter, FCC license and FM frequency sold out from under it. There has been a huge outpouring of student, alumni and community resistance, and there will be a protest on the campus of Rice tomorrow.
It goes down at the Academic quad in front of the statue of William Marsh Rice. Wear your KTRU t-shirt, make a clever picket sign, bring your friends, and be prepared to make some noise for college radio. The station could be killed as early as Monday or Tuesday, so it's crucial that this be the biggest deal possible. Keep up at SaveKTRU.org.
