Meetup n'at in Pittsburgh!

Sun July 11 at 1:00 PM, Phipps Conservatory Cafe
Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh, PA, USA (Map & Directions)
We are going classy this time and meeting at the cafe inside Phipps Conservatory.
I'll be wearing Metafilter blue and yellow so you can find us. Bring a little money if you want something to eat.

Protip: The Margaritas are terrible, but strong.

Note: The map is completely wrong. The Metafilter Map above doesn't understand the address 1 Schenley Drive, Pittsburgh, PA, so you should double check on Google Maps if you need directions. We're meeting in the big, white, pointy, glassy thing.

We should be able to make it. The map makes it look like we're meeting in Forbes Field, does Google know that's not there anymore?

[Updated the address and it looks a little closer. Google just isn't happy with this location.]

Dang, I'd really try to make that but it's a friends memorial service that day. :(

Calendar, marked. I'll try and find something classy to pull out of the closet/suitcase.

I have... other commitments on Sunday morning, but I will do my best to be there.

I could have sworn this said 11am when I loaded it. which was gonna suck, 'cause kataclysm and I have a standing commitment Sunday mornings at 1030 on the other side of town. but now it says 1pm, so maybe we'll be able to make it.

Hooray!

I'll see you all in a few hours!

Oh, and if you're interested, there will be an after-party at the Southpark wave pool. It costs $5 to get in. Bring your bathing suits!

And for those of you who are addicted to the world cup... I will be headed to Silky's in Squirrel Hill around 2 or 2:30. Especially if you are for Holland, you're welcome to join (there will be a ton of orange there, just a warning).

A follow up to our macaroon discussion - Moios does carry two kinds of macaroons, both the coconut based and the almond paste based. I specifically asked if her almond paste ones were the sandwich style I'm familiar with (that Oakmont Bakery sells) and she said they weren't sandwich style but they do have to distinct types of macaroons.

Now if only I could find somewhere to get some damned pączki next year...

Hey Flying Monkey - - For some weird reason the Oakmont Bakery is doing Paczki in July next weekend (24th & 25th).

Well, I know what I'm having for dinner today!

Now I just need to figure out where I can get a Moravian sugar cake and everything will be perfect.

thank you Amy! I have no idea why they were selling them either (it was amazingly crowded, and I didn't get a chance to ask), but they're phenomenal. Not only are these the equal of the South Lyon paczki my middle school English teacher would bring in every year for Paczki day, I'm pretty sure they even came in the same box.
