I've recently moved to Warsaw, Poland, and would love to meet up with other MeFites.
I'm open to food, drinks, walks, games, gigs, sightseeing, hikes, bike rides, picnics, techno clubs, book clubs.... and any other suggestions!

We could reach out to hat_eater. He was at the last Warsaw meetup a decade or so ago and though he hasn't commented on MF for a couple of years, he is still active on the reddit account linked from his profile.
The closest other active user is pracowity who is in Trójmiasto so very unlikely.

Excellent. Do you guys have a preference for evening/daytime? Coffee/drinks? Something else typically Warsawian…? Like I said, I’m new to the city and completely open to suggestions. Thinking in around 2-3 weeks’ time… Happy to message anyone in the area, great suggestion Busy Old Fool.

I can't do Mondays or the 26th, flexible otherwise :) Not techno or very physically taxing (like, mlre than an hour's walk or 5 km) please, because I'm still recovering from sugery...

The non-taxing activities from Weng's list are food, drinks, board games, sit-down arts events etc.
ICS (if you'll forgive the abbreviation), do you have any preferences or any other ideas? A drink and a snack is traditional for a meetup but I'm happy to push the boundaries!

Hi there- apologies for the radio silence until now! I think the traditional drink and snack is an excellent option, and we can always extend to further eating/drinking if sufficiently motivated.

Upstairs at Hala Koszyki is usually relatively quiet. I suggest the first to arrive grabs a table there and maybe puts some sort of symbol on it so the others know it's the meetup table. Maybe we can each bring a bit of paper with 'MF' written on it or something like that in case we're first?

Dear fellow Warsawians - I'm so sorry to do this at late notice, but I've had an urgent work task come up that looks like it's going to keep me indoors and on video calls most of the weekend. Which I'm quite bummed about... not least because I can see the sun has just come out!
May I suggest that if there's a critical mass (more than 1 other, perhaps? ;-)) that you go ahead without me - and if not, we try again after Easter?

How does everyone feel about sharing contact details in MeFi mail so we can set up a WhatsApp / Signal / Discord / Slack etc. group to coordinate the next meetup? I feel it might be lower friction and improve the chances of getting the four of us around a table on the same day at the same time!

I'm sorry I didn't show up. I rely on my phone for keeping tabs on everything and it can't help me when it's buried under my weight in bed. But it seems I'm a lucky bastard and I'll get a second chance to see you in person. And this time I'll entrust my wife with reminding me about the meetup I couldn't shut up about.
