Because I'm so sure I'm going to forget doing this, here's the thread for Japan Virtual Meetup #11! Sunday, June 21 at 8 p.m.
If any MeFites outside of Japan want to drop by, that's cool, too! I've only attended a couple of times so far but everyone has been very gentle with me (￣▽￣).
Edited to note: I just now noticed the "Online" category pony MeTa that Ghidorah proposed, and have changed this to Meetup Proposed (Tokyo because that's where I happen to be, sorry folks in other areas).
Edit #2 (June 21): Hey folks, changing this to Online again! Thanks for the invites emmling! If anyone is interested in dropping by, post in this thread pls!

misozaki, the thumb to forehead thing is something that I grew up with and thought was a universal thing, but the more and more people I meet, the fewer know about it.
It's just a silly way to say "not it." Another one I've seen (less obvious) is touching your finger to the side of your nose. Honestly, I teach it to my students, and it can be a great way to get students to "volunteer," especially since the student that ends up last usually hasn't been paying attention. It's evil, but it keeps kids on their toes.
As far as this week's meet, I'm sorry, but we're doing a food event in Soga from 12pm-10pm, so I won't be able to join. The meetup is a recurring thing, and the link I sent to everyone should work next week as well. I'll try to remember to mail invites again to anyone who didn't get one before, but if I forget/fail utterly, hopefully someone can forward the link I sent before. Have a blast!

In my family, the only variation I've seen (seldom used) is fists on the table, both thumbs up. Usually for who was doing the prayer or dishes at a sit down meal.

The zoom link is the same as last time so if you have that saved it should still work, but I've sent out invites to everyone (give or take). If I missed you or you want a link, comment here or send me a MeMail and I'll get one to you.

I noticed that this post seems to have been extended? Is this just a catchall for meetups now? If so, is the next one happening on Saturday instead of Sunday? I don't think I'd be able to make a Saturday meetup, but I'm a little confused by the date switch.

It was just me and Bugbread last week, and I've been really busy with work (but still at home) this week and didn't get around to making anything new. I assumed we'd just keep going for 8pm Sundays though. Should I make a new post or just let this one run?

It might be worth making a new one, if only because this one says Saturday, June 27th, instead of Sunday.
I can make a new one in a little bit, and will try to stop in for a bit, depending on how much work I can get done and how well my internet agrees with me.
