What do you need? What do you want? What do you want to give away? What do you need help with? What can you offer help with? posted by Slarty Bartfast to Online (16 comments total) 4 users marked this as a favorite

North of Seattle:

I'm sewing masks to give away. Pick-up, no mailing (for my sanity). They're the pleated kind, and don't have nose wires.

Southwest of Seattle: Can give away sourdough starter at will for porch pickup.

I can also invite people to cut some roses from my front garden.

I have a giant bag of dried blueberries, unopened, which has too much sugar for me to eat.

(Northgate) I have an almost-new microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse. Used for about 2 weeks, disinfected a number of times. It's a fine keyboard, just decided I needed an ergo one.

Columbia City:

We have
* 1.5 bags tortilla chips
* 1 head romaine lettuce
* lots of yeast that I'm willing to give away in small portions, TBD
* 45-ish yards of 'elastic' (stretchy fabric cord that was called elastic on Amazon, suitable for over-the-ear face masks
* homemade pleated cloth face masks, with substandard elastic that is weak because it is from wide elastic cut in half and will eventually need replacing (I can do that for you, if I ever get suitable elastic). Masks are 2 layers of cotton with a non-woven filter layer and wire nose piece sewn in.
* Lots of 3/4" colored ribbons for masks
* Clorox wipes

We're looking for:
* lots of 1/4" or 3/8" elastic for around-the-head-and-neck face masks
* several yards neutral solid fabric for lining masks

I've got 50+ yards you can have if you don't mind the trek all the way to Shoreline. At least traffic moves quickly these days...

How should we note when things are no longer available?

I think just drop a note in this thread.

And damn Gorgik, I could have used that keyboard 4 weeks ago. Thought about grabbing it but then I'd have a less good one I'd have to unload.

Keyboard is taken :-)

My elastic has gone to QuakerMel, and I have her elastic cord. Success!

I’m still making masks for people who want them, now with improved ear-loops (or fabric ties).

Capitol Hill area, I have:
*a pound of Saf instant yeast that can spare some ounces.
*1 or 2 like-new litter boxes of various styles that have been rejected by the diva cat.
*2 vacuum cleaners in good working condition
-Shark Navigator Lift Away (Wirecutter pick) ~3 years old with manuals and accessories
-Eureka Mighty Mite Pet Lover canister, a few years older but still works fine, with attachments and a new bag.

I have more fabric than I can use. (I've been making masks, but not quickly, in between school, working part-time, and a kid.) I'm in West Seattle/White Center area. I could use binding tape and elastic (couldn't we all), for the masks I will continue to make . I have jigsaw puzzles (most are dollar store level of quality), I am happy to give them away or trade then, especially for jigsaws missing pieces (I use them for art).

If you need some cloth masks, I can make a few. Slowly. Happy to give them away. (Either the pleated kind or Tom Bihn pattern, if you think one would fit you better.)

I am in the market for a SMALL DRESSER, max. 30” wide. Thanks!

We have a bookshelf that's the right width you could have if it would help.

Whoops wrong thread, I'm in Portland. Sorry!

Ok, we are revising our whole sleeping system. I have a once very nice now pretty well used queen size mattress that both my kids were conceived upon that has to go. Own a piece of history!

I also have a very nice Land of Nod single bed, mattress and frame, negotiable on matching dresser and night stand, that has to go.
