Come to my house and eat all my cheese and drink whisky.
You can stay over if you like.
A discussion was had on Facebook that went something like this:
Lollusc: "Also I have been DIY making cheese and there are 9 bries and a farmhouse cheddar and a whole lot of feta in my fridge waiting for people to eat them. (Well, the bries are waiting for April when they will be ripe, and the cheddar needs like 3 months at least, but feta is ready all ready....)"
His thoughts are red thoughts: "Let’s just go to Lollusc’s house and eat all her cheese and drink all her whisky and then stay there forever because we can’t drive and she makes us more cheese"
Polychora: "flawless plan"
His thoughts are red thoughts: "Hey, everyone, Lollusc's hosting CHEESE AND WHISKY PARTY 2018"
The date is pretty much settled (I have redacted the long and tedious process of finding a date that worked for everyone that also occurred in that Facebook thread). But the time is open for negotiation. I live near Parramatta, annoyingly far away from train stations. But the buses are okay. (The location on the map here is not actually my house. I will contact people who rsvp privately to tell them the address).
If you were at CHEESE PARTY 2017, it will pretty much be like that. But less conveniently located FOR EVERYONE EXCEPT ME MWAH HA HA HA

Oh no! I got the tense of your username wrong when I was swapping usernames for real names in the Facebook copypasta.

Oh, and I should also have said, children are welcome. But my house is not child proof in any reasonable way. There are concrete steps and staircases without railings, and redback spiders, and -- mysteriously -- a sliding door from the second story that opens into thin air. But if you would like to bring your children, we won't object. They probably can't have any whisky, though.

It's difficult to describe how my body yearns to attend this august gathering.
However, my body will actually be on a plane to Vanuatu that morning, so it must console itself with snorkeling and mojitos under the tropical sun.

I should note that people should not feel obliged to bring whisky. We have plenty! You can bring a cheese if you like, or something to go with cheese.
(We will not turn anyone with whisky away, of course, but don't feel you have to bring some.)

I am a bit sad that I'm on the other side of the world for this one. Lollusc, you live 1.6 km from me, and I have much Whisky and Cheese.

People affected by trackwork - I can probably do one Granville station pick-up if you can all coordinate about a time (room in car for four people). On the other hand, my car is currently at the mechanic because it broke. But they said it should be less broke by this afternoon.
One of my cheeses that I was looking forward to suffered a sad and terrible fate (don't ask) and the bries are a little... liquid. But delicious. But everything else is looking good.

Excellent Party. Lollusc, I hope the house wasn't too trashed. Also, I left my mulled wine pot behind.
I bought gherkins yesterday, as I had forgotten how much I enjoy a gherkin snack. I don't think I need to eat cheese for some time.

Aha! I thought that was MY pot, which looks very similar but is only a few weeks old, and was confused because it had staining I couldn't get off when I cleaned it. I couldn't understand how it had got stained so quickly. How soon do you need the pot back?
