A protest will be held in Paris this Saturday 19 November. Fellow MeFites who want to come: we could all find each other once there. If someone knows the area well (Ecole Militaire) and can suggest a specific spot, that would be great! Be sure to join the Facebook event here.
Taken from the Facebook event's text: "The results of the United States presidential election have outraged people around the globe. In response to Donald Trump's victory, citizens everywhere must unite to stand up against his discourse of hate and xenophobia, his fear-mongering, and the dangerous policies he plans to enact.

"Given the influence and powerful position of the United States on the world's geopolitical stage, Trump is a threat not only to people in the U.S., but to people throughout the world. His brand of populist scapegoating is not unique to the United States. Following Brexit earlier this year, right-wing demagoguery is on the rise throughout Europe. Trump's victory serves as encouragement to dangerous demagogues everywhere. This is why we are calling on Americans, Parisians and citizens from all countries to join this protest."

FYI: the protest has been declared with the police and cleared. They'll be providing protection along the route. Having done a race there just a week ago: it's well-known by police as they consider it one of the safest places in the city to hold a large group event. We were 16,000 runners and all went well.
