Mini Mefi Meetup in London?

Hi all. I'm visiting my brother in London the weekend of the 25-27 November, and was wondering if anyone would be around for a couple of hours on the Friday night to say hello and perhaps drink some gins with me?
I'm visiting with my Mum and we have plans for most of the weekend, but I felt it only fair to give them a few hours alone together so she could fully grill him on his current eating habits/work prospects/relationship developments etc in the style of an Irish Ma.

So if anyone would be free to meet me on Friday the 25th after about 5pm that would be lovely. We're staying in Shoreditch (Hackney Road) but I'm happy to get the tube to meet elsewhere.

Hurray! We've had a couple of fun meet ups at The Eagle off City Road, so well within walking distance of the Shoreditch end of Hackney Road, and easily accessible by public transport in general. It's a good pub! There's also any number of snazzy gin joints in the neighbourhood if you'd rather go for something a bit fancier and ginnier.

That sounds grand, I'm ok with the less snazzy end of drinking venues. As long as it's not too deafening, but I may be asking for a lot on a Friday night... What time would suit? I'm pretty flexible.

I'll come in after work, so I'll be at Paddington at 7:00, so at The Eagle half an hour later or so. And then leaving in time for the last train home. Looking forward to it.

I just remembered that the last time I was in the Eagle was when Jessamyn was over about two years ago. I ended up joining Optamystic and co in a taxi to Crobar in Soho. Then stayed out until god knows what time and fell asleep on the night bus home...

So just wondering what time would suit people best for kick-off? Brother will be finished work by 5 if not a wee bit before, so once he has custody of Mum I'm fairly flexible as to time. Can hang around with them for a while or head straight over if earlier is better for people.

I'm flexible. Depending on if anything urgent pops up at work, I should be able to get there from 5/5.30 without a problem.

I would guess that an earlier start is wise if we want a table? (unless we book one)

I'm of the "just give it a go and see what happens" type, to be honest. Booking tables in pubs doesn't sit well with me, but London sometimes pushes you into these things.

Someone more familiar with the pub may want to weigh in?

I'm excited for my first meetup! I should be there by sixish. A table booking would be nice if possible - could well be rammed with after-work drinkers otherwise.

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it after all. I'm still in Norwich for a while yet, and won't be back in London until later on. (The fact that I also managed to get burrito juice [ooh, matron] all over my dry-clean-only clothes also plays a bit of a factor here, but it's too sad to go into.)

Have a great time, and drink one or two for me.

I've just added a profile pic, which might help. I find that looking out for awkward people with phones or a surprisingly mixed group tends to do the trick!

I meant to say - if you send me a mailing address (PO box, work, anything) I'll send a christmas card. The printer I use only offers quantities of not quite enough or far too many, and I have far too many christmas cards. Please! It has a rooster on it!
