Fri June 12 at 7:30 PM, Town Hall Theater
68 South Pleasant Street, Middlebury, VT, USA (Map & Directions)
For nerds who like this sort of thing, there's going to be two concerts of new (experimentalish) concert music and songs this Friday and Saturday in Middlebury, VT, as part of a festival I help organize.
New Music On the Point, a festival for student and emerging composers and performers, will present their final concert series, Friday at 7:30PM and Saturday at 2:30PM, at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury, VT. Performers include faculty members from the JACK quartet (one of the best modern and contemporary music string quartets in the world) and the American Modern Ensemble. There will be many interesting pieces featuring weird sounds (plucking inside the piano, strings scraping, winds screeching) and also many lovely melodies and sonorities. If you are a Mefite who is into the new music scene, or would like to be, and are in central Vermont, admission is free and you are very welcome to attend. If you do come, please come say "hi" to me, I will be the short lady with short hair who's running around doing a thousand things.
