My sister Tess Martin (MeFi's own) is launching her new non-profit arts booster organization this Friday: Haptic Animation Amplifier. She's curated a Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase at the NorthWest Film Forum on Capitol Hill this week, and on Friday the animation fun will culminate with her launch party at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public and will feature fun animation stations for adults to get their artistic and silly groove on. Libations available. [more inside]

My band Pueblo is playing at the Black Cat in DC! With a band I love, Dolfish. The live setup is a duo with me and a powerful drummer - who I've been playing with for a good quarter of my life. We've got quite a few new songs and such - some of which I've been posting on Metafilter Music and some others which are online - but it'll be great! Aaand, I'll buy you a drink if you can make it!
