Radiohead in New Orleans
Anyone else going to the Radiohead show in New Orleans on Monday? I'm a huge fan who's never seen them live, so I'm taking the day off to ride the Crescent train down and spend most of the day waiting in line like a nut for a decent spot. If anybody else has general admission/floor tickets, maybe we can do a mini meet-up and save each other's places in line for food/bathroom breaks/chat/phalanxing our way to center rail?

The Last Hurrah of Hartford's Living Room
Hartford's Living Room, the La Paloma Sabanera coffee house, is shutting its doors at the end of this month, and its owner, Virginia, is moving on to other, better things.
We (i.e., people who have run and participated in events at La Paloma Sabanera over the years) are marking this occasion with a bit of sadness but also with a big party on Wednesday, June 26, from 6pm to 11:30. [more inside]

John "Grangousier" Peacock at the Stage Door
OK, I've done this half-hearted self-promotion on Metafilter before, and people encouraged me to post if I was doing another gig (and it's taken this long to get one) - I'll be playing a thirty-five minute set, probably at about 9:15 at The Stage Door in Waterloo (behind the Old Vic, nearest tube Waterloo). Free entrance. [more inside]
Me, Live at the Spice of Life in London's West End
Me being Grangousier.
(That's my MeFi superhero name, my real name is John Peacock).
And this being a gesture in the general direction of promoting said bout of self-expression in the general direction of anyone who might have met me at a previous MeFi piss-up social event and consequently be interested or curious or such. I'll be playing a half-hour set at 20:00 in the basement of The Spice of Life, right in the heart of London's West End, next door to Singing in the Rain. It's free to get in, which is important in these days of reduced access to coinage. [more inside]
BBQ, Beer, and Beats
Velikovsky, the band for which I emit saxophonic noises, will be playing at the The Horseshoe (warning, myspace link).
Soul City Juke Band will be opening.
Come for the BBQ and Beer, stay for the bombastic, bluesy beats.
The VelAff at Reggie's
Fun music. Plain and simple.
My band, the Velikovsky Affair, is playing at the Elbo Room in Chicago this upcoming Wednesday. [more inside]
The White Hat at The Tin Angel in The Philadelphia
