Skógarhlíð, Reykjavik Austurbær, Iceland (Map & Directions)
Vegetarian kjötsúpa will also somehow be served!
Krilli and Svenni have kindly offered to have us round to their place, where we will enjoy lamb (and non-lamb) soup.
Note: Map updated!

Awesome! Friday or Sunday evening would work best for me, although I'm on holiday, so I could probably make whatever evening is most convenient for people.

Okay, so I've landed in Reykjavík now. I'll get on organizing a meetup. I'll be covering Airwaves for Grapevine, so I'll be there for a lot of it. Incidentally, there's quite a few interesting off-venue shows, Grapevine is probably your best resource for info on those.

Well, my activities include, but are not limited to, living there. So count me in, I guess.

If I were to present an invitation to Icelandic kjötsúpa at my place, what time would be most suitable? Probably lunchtime during the weekend, judging from the Airwaves schedule.
Do you want?

I would rather quite love to attend. I find myself in the wrong country.

Oh goddamn you, krilli... kjötsúpa? You did this because you know I don't eat meat, you bastard :)

Krilli, that is such a generous offer and would be awesome to the utmost degree.
I'm afraid that my travel buddy Amanda and I are out all day Saturday on a big tour of the south coast and then have dinner reservations, and we're going to the Blue Lagoon Hangover Party from 12pm until 3pm on Sunday, so I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to make lunch on either day. Would a late afternoon lunch-dinner work on Sunday? I don't want to mess with your weekend plans.

Counterintuitively, it is actually possible to do a vegetarian kjötsúpa. I'll have both kinds. Please send me information about how strictly vegetarian you are (i.e. is broth OK?).
And it is indeed possible to schedule it for Sunday! Late afternoon lunch-dinner it is.

Sweet! So excited. Shall I make it official? Would 5pm or so work for everybody?

Historical note: The old map location (also the one on my profile) is the careful long/lat presentation of Bankastræti 0, a notable underground lavatory and ad-hoc bum shelter in the nice part of town.

Which would be a nice place for a meetup, if it hadn't been boarded up.

It's probably nicer, now that it has been boarded up.
I don't suppose anyone's got a crowbar.

A guest graciously asked if they should bring anything.
The answer is no, not really, thanks :)
But ...
If you have any red wine, that would be cool - preferably on the side of being a little tart, and less oaky. (I have no expectations about anyone bringing wine! I've never drunk wine w/ kjötsúpa before.)
It would actually be very useful if you could bring, say, two liters of Coca-Cola. Coke and Icelandic lamb go surprisingly well together.
If you have any good stuff that could serve as dessert, then I'm sure the other guests would enjoy it :) In other words, you are free to bring whatever you feel would be an addition.

Takk fyrir kvöldið!
Here's some of the Congolese music we heard tonight, by Pamelo Mounk'a. This is off the best music blog I've yet found by far, No Condition is Permanent: http://permanentcondition.blogspot.com/2005/06/pamelo-mounka-red-album.html
Here's some stuff we didn't listen to from the same blog:
http://permanentcondition.blogspot.com/2005/10/chief-commander-ebenezer-obey-his.html
http://permanentcondition.blogspot.com/2005/08/coup-clou-et-lensemble-select-sciss.html
Amazing stuff.
And what nice and fun and interesting people we were.

We had a lovely time! The kjotsupa was delicious. I'm back in SF now and am tempted to attempt to make a pot...with lovage.
