Late notice Sydney meetup?

I'll be in Sydney next week for a conference and workshop, and was hoping to meet up with some MeFites while I'm there, if I haven't left it too late for people to make plans.

I'm free on Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Saturday. Although my husband really wants to go to Taronga Zoo on the Saturday so maybe late afternoon or night would be best. Dinner? Drinks? Throwing eggs at colourful Sydney personalities?

I'm staying at the Travelodge on York St and the conference is at the Sheraton on Sussex St. Supposedly this is in the middle of the city. I'm happy to take public transport out to somewhere more convivial if needed, although you'll have to give me directions.

TNJ - at the Melbourne MeFi trivia last night there was a team taking your name in vain. It's OK, though, we soundly trounced them.

Yay Russ! I stole the name from a team I saw in Sydney one time. Now I think by law all Trivia comps have a TNJ team. I'm ready to change accounts.

If there is a quorum, I can come along on Tuesday evening for a bit, but my partner takes a dim view of late nights out with random internet strangers (you're not on Lavalife, right).
That end of town, maybe the Lord Nelson? Or the Brooklyn?

Although, on reflection, I'd say better wander down toward China town where there is a bit of night time action for those who might want to go on after my soft self goes home.

Yay! Sounds like Tuesday night will work well for people. I can't really do a huge night out as I've got a workshop the next day but dinner and some drinks would be great. What time is good? Early-ish so people can meet straight after work, or a bit later to give people time to wind down?

Oh I see Taff! Yes, I'll certainly be in Sydney another time, hopefully with more notice next time.

7pm sounds good to me, LiB. Shall we go with the first suggestion of the Lord Nelson? I have no idea where it is but am sure I'll figure it out.

I'm really sorry to cancel on everyone but have just found out that I won't be free tonight after all. Do people know how to contact each other offline to pass the word around? Or carry on without me, I don't mind :)
