Shakespeare Aliens - a remake in verse

Tue January 11 at 7:30 PM, Theatre Works
14 Acland St, St Kilda VIC 3182, Australia (Map & Directions)
I've written a new play - it's an adaptation of Aliens (1986), mounted as if it was a Shakespearean history play. It's on at Theatre Works from Jan 11 to 15, 2022. 7:30pm Melbourne Summer Time. Tickets on sale here.
This show was supposed to happen last year, so I did an interview with The Age about creating in lockdown one. Here we are, 18 months and multiple lockdowns and Zoom rehearsals later.

It's a big show: 9 actors and 3 puppeteers! All the tension and action of the classic James Cameron film as if he was Shakespeare.

"For Shakespeare never wrote a story with more guns,
Than this tale of Ripley and the Aliens."

Five shows only. Book now.

I'm literally across the planet, but this sounds amazing.

SAME! If there’s a live stream I would buy a ticket and set an alarm to watch it!

Oh awesome -- I really wish I could see it! If you ever feel like letting others stage it (and if COVID ever releases its nightmare hold on the US) I would love to show this script to my Shakespeare company!

We will be offering it as VOD at some point. Live streaming was just too difficult on our small budget.

I would love to show this script to my Shakespeare company!

Happy to send you a copy. It's a mash-up. It's not loyal to Shakespeare or Aliens; it has fun with both.
