Metafilter meet up proposal for October 2019 at Angor Wat, Cambodia. Time and date to be narrowed in October based on availability of members.
Why the Temples of Angor/Sam Riep? How often do you get the call to adventure with a bunch of Internet strangers?
Why October? It is at the end of the rainy season and just prior to the main tourist season of November through May.
Why 2019? Because this provides enough time to get a killer flight deal and to provide enough planning time for travel; accumulation of vacation time/funds and administrivia such as, passports.

See the dawn rise over the temple and wander around the Angor Wat Archaeological Park

Love this idea and was real excited then I saw it said 2019... I will be in the area and could've made a stop in Cambodia pretty easily in October this year, but not sure it'll fit the schedule for next year, unless I do the opposite of pompomtom and lose my job by then...
