Yoni Ki Baat - 10th Anniversary
Yoni Ki Baat, inspired by The Vagina Monologues, presents true stories by and about South Asian women talking about sexuality, gender, and womanhood as it intersects with race and culture. To celebrate 10 years in the Bay Area, this year's production will present selected work from past shows, covering topics from queer desire to infertility, body hair to facial hair, sex on a plane to sex in public, and much more - including a diatribe against Fair and Lovely. There are 2 evening productions on March 22nd and 23rd and a self-identified-women's only matinee on March 23rd. Tix are $15: partial proceeds go towards supporting organisations that help women and girls. [more inside]
Yoni Ki Baat
Yoni Ki Baat is a South Asian take on the Vagina Monologues that has been part of the Bay Area for nearly 10 years. The pieces, written by South Asians around the world, deal with various themes of gender, sexuality, and race - from sexual repression, to health and beauty concerns, to love and marriage. I am performing in this so I'd love to see you there! [more inside]
