January isn't over yet, and you can never have too much dim sum, so, how's about an encore? Same bat time, same bat channel -- Bamboo Garden [more inside]
The time for happy birthday dim sum is here - this year at Bamboo Garden, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
I want to go to Tamara Shopsin's reading with John Hodgman at Books Are Magic if work doesn't wear me out too much. If you'd like to come too, that'd be cool! We could also get dinner and/or drinks at one of many nearby drinking and dining establishments (like Leyenda, perhaps?). [more inside]
I just can’t even with the news. So that means just one thing: ICE CREAM [more inside]

January is here, so, ferret branca and I want to have dim sum with mefites again, at delicious Pacificana in Brooklyn. The more the merrier (and the smaller the final tab, usually), who's in? (previously) (moved to February so as not to coincide with Chinese New Year's Day) [more inside]
Not sure what to say at this juncture in history, but I'd like to suggest a meetup, since I could use a drink or three. Join me and we can talk about the election, or not. [more inside]

They've got a variety of draft beers, and a menu of both meat and vegan sausages and sides. Fries and pretzel sticks also good for nomming. Edit: Accidentally posted this for Thursday when I meant to do Wednesday. Fixed now!
Sorry for the late post! I hope to see y'all Thursday evening.
It's back to my neck of the woods this week, as I'm recovering from a pretty gnarly back injury, and I'm trying to keep my travel to a minimum. (Next week we'll venture forth again!)
To quote 1970s Antihero: "Let's meet up and drink beers. Because we're adults and we can."
Edit: We are decamping to one stop beer shop on Kingsland to avoid the open mic here at Boulevard. One more in my new neighborhood before I acquiesce and choose a Manhattan location for next week. I'm setting the starting time for this one at 7, since I'll be coming from work, but I can change it to 6:30pm if others want to start without me.
As discussed at the Keg & Lantern meetup: I'm resurrecting the weekly meetup. This time, it's on Wednesday.
I'm going to be in NYC the weekend of April 25th, and I'd love to organize an outing to the bottle beach at Dead Horse Bay in Brooklyn. Anyone interested? [more inside]
Weekly meetup! Lives again? [more inside]
edit: Friday, December 26 at the 4th Ave Pub it is then! See you all there! Original: NY Mefites! I'll be in New York from Christmas Day till New Year and I'd like to meet any and all of you. My schedule is open so far* and a date between 26-30 would probably work best. I'll be staying in Brooklyn (near DeKalb Ave) though venturing outside the borough is fine too if most people prefer that. Shall we have the last meetup of 2014? [more inside]

The Brooklyn Museum is free, and has special events, on Saturday evenings from 5-10 pm. Let's meet see some of the museum and events and have a drink. [more inside]
South Slope has an absolute gem of a little cocktail bar in Quarter. Also, Metafilter's Own™ davidjmcgee will be tending the bar Thursday night, so let's all go and tip well.
We won Pacific Standard's pub quiz a while ago and never redeemed our prize, a $200 party at the bar. Join us and drink free (within reason)!
Been wanting to try Mission Dolores in Park Slope and I see they have a beer week special. What say you, Mefites?
7 pm. If people don't like the time/place let me know and I'll consider changing it, we'll also hope it's still open.
This Saturday, northernish Greenpoint, near the Greenpoint Ave stop on the G.
oh yeah! and I discussed having a dim sum meetup at Pacificana for our collective birthday. **see update below** (still same time and place. Please confirm attendance.) [more inside]
A spin off from the other New Years meetup thread. Things that are known: wanting to go to the steam whistles at Pratt; wanting to eat, drink, and be merry beforehand. Things that are unknown: Where and when to eat, drink, and be merry. [more inside]
A couple weeks ago at a meetup, I mentioned the Pickle Shack, a new bar that is a collaboration between Dogfish Head and Brooklyn Brine. It seemed like there's some interest in checking it out. [more inside]
I feel like there hasn't been a meetup in northern Brooklyn in a while and I have wanted to try The Rookery in Bushwick so I am calling a meetup there. [more inside]
We narrowed it down to a date! An actual date! And an actual place! And my mind is still reeling that it's a German beer garden (who'd a thunk it?) just down the street from where I used to live back in the 90s! Here's the place. Looking forward to meeting new friends in my old neighborhood that will no doubt seem like a new neighborhood. Prost!
Hactar was bragging about how great he is at making pancakes, so I challenged him to put his silver dollar pancakes* where our mouths are. [more inside]
Last time there was a meetup at Zombie Hut I did not order the frozen drink with a shot of unidentified alcohol in the straw, and I have been forever regretful. Help me right this situation? [more inside]
Hi all! North Brooklyn time! Manhattanites will be TOLERATED. Staten Islanders, Queensians, and The Bronxish shall be roundly celebrated for adding a touch of exoticism. This week's meetup shall be at Harefield Road (right off the Graham stop on the L, or a short walk from the Lorimer/Metropolitan G stop), which has a lovely little backyard-ish area and lots of great beers. Hope to see you there! (some of you may take umbrage at the extra-H variant spelling of "Williamsburg", but to that I say that the Extra H Is For hSavings)
Was thinking about proposing a meetup at Supercollider and just saw that Bar Scrawl (previously featured on the blue) did a neat writeup of it. Like Bill Roundy, I got the black hole to drink and it was tasty! They have a happy hour ('til 7, I think) and a cool little rooftop space. (If this date ain't no good, let me know and I will change it--any day next week is cool.)
Commonwealth has $4 beers till 7 o'clock. The sun goes down at 8. There is free popcorn and a "cute backdoor area as well" (Yelp).
We're sorry, New York. We love you but we just can't live with you. [more inside]
As of now, Thursday is looking to be rainy (c'mon May, get it together). How about the newish The Hollow Nickel on Atlantic? Close to all your favorite public transit lines. Update: Now that this is moved up a week, who knows what the weather will be. We can update it to an outdoor place if it looks like it'll be nice.
I keep saying that I'm going to organize a meetup at Sycamore so let's do it! (On a Thursday, not a Wednesday, so I can actually be there.) Come enjoy the greenery of Ditmas Park while drinking tasty beer! [more inside]
This year's Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is scheduled for April 27th & 28th, 10am-6pm. [more inside]
