In the spirit of today's seriously crappy weather, I thought I'd take this moment to invite you to the very last possible Goat-Frog First Wednesday ever. The Goat endures, but the Frog closes mid-January. [more inside]

I've got an idea: let's celebrate the longest month of sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere starting out in a dark basement bar and ending up in a different dark bar. [more inside]
On behalf of the Chicago Chapter of the Cabal*, I repudiate the current rumor that there is "a rampant pro-billy goat prejudice" on Metafilter. Mr. quidnunc's allegations are scurrilous, pernicious, libelous, and, what's more, categorically untrue, and I reject them with the utmost strenulosity. That bit of business concluded, I'm pleased to announce our seventieth or so monthly meetup, to be held on the first Wednesday of March at the famous Billy Goat Tavern! [more inside]
The first Wednesday of February is fast approaching. LET'S DO THIS. Oh and hey guys by the way look what I found. [more inside]
December Chicago meetup! [more inside]
Inquiring minds want to know if the Metafilter Last Supper picture is hanging on the wall at the Goat still. Why don't we check it out and also have a meet-up? [more inside]
I have a great idea! Let's get together at the classic Chicago bar, the Billy Goat Tavern! [more inside]
(Coming up on time, so I figured I go ahead and post this before people started getting anxious.) This is our monthly Chicago meetup as the Billy Goat for those who don't yet know that this is what this is. You should definitely come to this if you did not already know this. It is good. (You should also come if you have already attended and did know this, but I'm not as worried about making you feel comfortable.) [more inside]
Goat Song : Chicago is the story of a year in the life of a group of mefites who abandoned their one-bedroom apartments in Chicago to live under Michigan Avenue raise Billy Goats. In poetic, reverent detail, EvilSpork talks of our ancient relationship to the land and our gradual alienation from the Billy Goats that feed us. His fascinating account traces his journey of the choosing of the billy goat, and learning how to breed, brew, and curse the cubs with them. [more inside]
OMG! It's my first goat/frog IRL post! [more inside]
October 3rd is both the first Wednesday in October (GOATUP!) and the first presidential debate of the season. [more inside]
September has begun (or will have had begun when this meetup has happened) and thus it is time for a billy goat tavern meetup followed by the totally optional (and totally awesome) karaoking at the blue frog.
Same Goat time, same Goat location. We will also honor the closing of the Bizarro Goat. And THAT is why, you DON'T OFFER FRIES.
So, Wednesday is April 4th, the first Wednesday in April. Shall we meet at the Goat as per usual?
I keep losing track of when the March Goating is. It should be next week, but for the leap year thing, it's the week after. So I'm putting it here, to keep me from forgetting. Perhaps it will help someone else. In the interests of helping others, we'll meet instead at the Grafton Pub, in Lincoln Square, where misskaz is guest bartending from 6pm-9pm to raise money for the shearing of her
goat head for charity.
It's that time again. Be there. [more inside]
And they're like,
yeah, it's ok...I mean, there are better places to get a burger, but this'll do just fine it's better than yours. [more inside]
Tiny Beers, cheeseborgers, possibly springlike weather. What has everyone been up to since last month? Meet us at the usual place, at the usual time, and listen to the usual stories. It will be fun! No, really. It usually is! The question is: "What are you doing to ensure it stays that way?" That's what I thought; see you there.
So, next Wednesday is March 2, which means your friendly neighborhood TINCC* requests the honor of your presence at the Billy Goat Tavern under Michigan Avenue. [more inside]
