First-timers in Seattle!
My husband and I will be staying in the North Beacon Hill area for a few days on our way home from our trip to Alaska and have never been to Seattle before. Would anyone be interested in a meetup? We're totally open to suggestions! August 11 or 12 would probably be the best since we aren't traveling those days, though brunch on Saturday could also be an option.

It's my birthday! And my meetup!
Damn it, Christmas. Always stealing my thunder. Let's have dinner + sauce as you want it on my birthday, 12/26. I'd love to meet some mefites too! We're eating at the wonderful Kingfish Cafe in North Capitol Hill with reservations at 8pm. Afterwards, we'll go to the Unicorn, The Hideout or Rockbox Karaoke (whichever is least crowded). I look forward to seeing whoever can come on this little notice and around this stupid holiday -- and to getting a more solid group of Seattle meetup people in general! (Please no "maybe" answers - I will need to change the reservation.) There will be cake.

West Seattle Picnic
I'd like to have a picnic at Roxhill Park and hang out while kids play on the (exciting, new) playground. (There's also a skatepark, a large field, and a marsh walk.) Who wants to come hang out on a non-pouring-rain Saturday afternoon? (There's only a 10% chance of rain next Saturday, at least right now, so maybe then?)

Bowling at Imperial Lanes
I have spent the evenings of Christmas Day, New Year's Day and a number of Sundays since bowling with a friend at Imperial Lanes in Rainier Valley. We have had a wonderful time every time. Experience strongly suggests a meetup there on another Sunday evening would work out fine. Especially since this time it seems fairly likely that it will not be snowing.

That tattered fragment of the ghost of its former self, the Fun Forest sees its last weekend ever fall on the first weekend of the New Year. After 7 PM, Sunday, January 2nd, 2011, there will no more rides, games, lazer tag or bumper cars. So, I propose Bumper Cars at 5 PM and then, after 7 PM, conversations that sparkle like wine, with finger foods and beverages on the side, at a warm, convivial and comfortable venue location to be determined later but not far from the Seattle Center. Maybe a venue along the lines of the 1st Avenue Elysian--that was a fun meetup... [more inside]
