It's that dark and bedraggled time of year again...time for another game night! [more inside]

We narrowed it down to a date! An actual date! And an actual place! And my mind is still reeling that it's a German beer garden (who'd a thunk it?) just down the street from where I used to live back in the 90s! Here's the place. Looking forward to meeting new friends in my old neighborhood that will no doubt seem like a new neighborhood. Prost!

I'm moving to Toronto in just a couple of days! Unfortunately I don't have enough nights left for a dedicated MeFi meetup night but I'm going to try to get together all my friends at Hale's Ales for some local beers. I hope my MeFi friends can make it too! WARNING: you may have to interact with non-MeFites. People might not know who Matt Haughey or Jessamyn are.

As part of the XOXO festival, MetaFilter is sponsoring an afternoon of gaming at Ground Kontrol, the awesome 80s throwback arcade/bar. All the games will be on freeplay from 2pm to 5pm and the venue will normally be closed to all but XOXO attendees. If you're not lucky enough to be one of the ~500 attendees of XOXO, there should be room for MeFites to enjoy the space as well, just tell the doorman "I'm with the MetaFilter Meetup" to get in without a XOXO pass.

Hey, our (capnsue, josher71, petulant beard) band, Blackwolf Beach is playing at Grand Victory in Brooklyn at 8pm on the 21st of September. Calling any and all Perth/WA mefites! We are currently the only mainland state in Australia to never have had an IRL meetup. This should not continue. To celebrate Chip's first real NFL game, McMenamin's Backstage Bar is showing the game against Washington at 3:55pm, after a Q&A and book signing for "The Tao of Chip Kelly" by metafilter's own msalt. I'm hoping to rally enough steady Chip/Eagles fans to convince McMenamin's to regularly show Eagles games all year since they're not on national TV again, except maybe the Thursday night KC game.
