Update: We're meeting at Besties Cool Treats, at Liberty Station in Point Loma, on Sunday afternoon. Besties (Suite 103, in the "Quarter" district) has ice cream, sorbet, gelato, frozen yogurt, cookies, smoothies, popcorn, and açaí bowls; coffee options include mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos. The shop itself is kid-friendly, and offers seating. Lots more to do at the Liberty Station mixed-use complex (for instance, there's an artwalk this weekend), should you want to make a day of it. I was thinking it would be cool if a bunch of zine makers came together to chit chat, trade and or make zines. Anyone know a good venue in Manhattan? I was thinking of doing this next Thursday, I guess around 6 for people that work?

Harrisburg Art Museum in the East End is having a series of mural art and graffiti battles and it seems like a funky place to have a Houston MeFi outing (weather permitting.) Maybe go for a drink at East End Hardware or Truck Yard afterward. I propose we go to the August 24th date (mainly because I can't make August 10th)

After proposing and then totally failing to make it to a Helsinki meet up 2 years ago, I'd like to try again. Thursday (15th August) seems like a good plan, food? drink? somewhere kid friend as I am attending with a kid and a teen. I am from Dublin but the convention is in a part of town that basically didn't exist when I immigrated in the mid-90s, so I don't have a strong feeling about where, though somewhere near the Point Square part of the con might work?

Hey all, never been to Minnesota before but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a little road trip to see national treasure Chuck Tingle at Convergence Con. Review of past IRLs indicates that Convergence MeFi meetups have happened in the past. How about another one? [more inside]

Has there really never been a South Florida meetup? How is this possible?!! Anyone around care to try to do something casual for our grand ol' 20th? I'm in Hollywood and can host in my small but cozy condo on either Friday the 12th or Saturday the 13th--perhaps I can put out some box wine, light snacks, and we can just do a potluck style early evening thing? Other ideas? I had a blast up in Philadelphia for the 10th anniversary and would love the chance to meet some SoFlo MeFites if possible!
