Copenhagen is my last stop in Europe after a month long trip through Europe. I will be there from July 3 untill July 9th visiting an friend and seeing the sights. Anyone have ideas for cafes/bars/pubs to meet at or group activities?

This is a full length (hour and a half) variety show (loosely) on the theme of palindromes and symmetry. It includes stand up comedy by the excellent Dax Jordan, now of Los Angeles; music by the mysterious Cymbalman; Semor D. Nilap of SCINEGENICS corporation, as recently seen at the CHAD Chats; and the first ever land-based synchronized swimming performance, by the Olivia Darlings. Also -- a live palindrome competition featuring 3 competitors from the recent World Palindrome Championship -- winner msalt, popular author Jon Agee, and Australian master palindromist Martin Clear -- as well as Mary Lang (of the rock group Gift) and Dax. Audience members are invited to join -- bring paper pencil and a dictionary (or whatever tools you need) if you're interested.

Anybody want to meet up for a weekday dinner in Alexandria Va.? I was thinking most likely on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, at either Shooter McGee's on Duke Street or Paradiso Italiano on Franconia Road. Other places in Alexandria's west end considered, but not on a weekend, and not in Old Town --- trying to avoid too much hassle with parking and crowds!

We had a really excellent meetup last time in Ottawa, it seems a shame not to do it again, very soon. Summer is often tough but mid-July would be great for us. What about for all of you Ottawa/Quebec types? Would love to see you again.

For those who aren't familiar with it, Silverdocs is a kickass documentary film festival sponsored by the American Film Institute and Discovery. Most of the films are screened in the lovely AFI Silver in downtown Silver Spring, MD, which is metro accessible. Anyone going? Anyone interested? Want to try to meetup somewhere in Silver Spring for pre-or post-film drinks? I live nearby and already have tickets for at least one film for most of the days. The festival runs from June 18-24, but I imagine that it might be easier to coordinate something over the weekend (June 23 or 24) or perhaps Friday night? [more inside]
