Reading through some old AskMe posts, I saw that a lot of people had responded to various questions about being gay/lesbian/bi/etc in NYC with offers to meet up and hang out. And I thought, well, I could stalker-ily message those people, or I could just post an event and see if anyone is into it. [more inside]

I've already reserved and paid for a single site at Trillium Lake Campground (less than a 90 minutes' drive from Portland, location on Google Maps) for the weekend of Sept. 12, Friday aft. through Sunday morning. I'm going no matter what, but I'd be happy if anyone wanted to join me. [more inside]

My band Red On Strike will be playing an acoustic set to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple in Hacienda Heights, CA. There will be several other bands, booths displaying works from various visual artists, hands on arts and crafts, facepainting, an evening meditation session, and lots of vegetarian food.

Brooklyn Bridge Walk 2014 - starting on the Manhattan side (meeting point should be the plaza area by the subway entrance near the pedestrian access entryway) we will walk across to check out the food at Smorgasburg and wander around and/or collapse in Brooklyn Bridge Park, on June 15th.

I booked a show for Grant Hart at the Davis Square Theatre in Somerville, MA this evening. Grant will be performing a solo acoustic show, and Brad San Martin of One Happy Island will open. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. 21+. I know Husker Du has a posse on MeFi and it would be great to see some MeFites there.

In the Weird DC thread, troika mentioned that Churchkey + going to the incredibly bizarre yet oddly charming Monarch Novelties could be a great meetup combination, so I say: why not? Hejsan! Here's the scoop: I am going to the premier of Cyrano tomorrow night, on June 4th, as described in this link: http://kulturhusetstadsteatern.se/parkteatern/Evenemang/2014/Cyrano. Since Meijusa has a baby, I will be there at 5 pm. I will be in the first row of seats at the bottom, closest to the stage, and then we can find a place nearby that's better for the baby.
