Hi all. My tenant is hosting the karaoke at the Jekyl and Hyde pub at 2340 Dundas Street West (Dundas West station) this coming Thursday night, starting at 10 p.m. I've promised him I'll show my support by showing up in my best landlady garb (complete with a worn, faded, half-buttonless housedress, scuzzy slippers, curlers, and one of my eighteen mangy cats in tow), and do my best rendition of "Live to Tell". And I'd like to have some fun people to hang out with between numbers. Does anyone want to come out for karaoke? The Jekyl and Hyde is a Firkin-like pub, the DJ's karaoke playbook is reportedly huge, and I'm told there aren't a lot of people who come to Thursday night karaoke, so you'll get the chance to sing several songs if you like. Or you can just point and laugh at those of us who do. We could also meet earlier than 10 p.m.

stet and I are going to Ballard FM tomorrow. It is open 10am - 3pm. We will probably be there by about 11am, and hang around until at least noon, probably more like 1-2pm. Hey y'all, calling all Bangkok MeFites — my gf and I are in town through the evening of the second (plane out about 8pm), and would love to see some locals. We're staying at an airbnb in Pratunam, not too far from Victory Monument, and would enjoy dinner, drinks, etc. We're vegetarian and a little newb at Bangkok, so please keep that in mind.

Some MeFites were together last night and decided it was time to call a meetup on the east side of town, in particular at Tunnicliff's, which is relatively spacious, quiet, and near the metro. MrMoonPie suggested we meet around inauguration time. Perhaps a weeknight the week prior? The inauguration is on Monday, January 21.

This could be the last time we meet at the Maple Leaf Pub for Geeks Who Drink trivia. (If Doomsday doesn't come, we'll be back after New Year's.) You know the drill: Steak at 7, trivia at 8. The recent Cards Against Humanity post on the blue got me thinking: anyone in Toronto and nearby up for a Snakes and Lattes meetup for some games (of CaH and/or others diversions)? I am going to pitch next Friday the 28th, but I am open to other suggestions for date. Who's in?

I'm so excited that my trip to Berlin is finally here! I will be staying in the Prenzlauer Berg area between December 22-28. I realize this is a very sticky time of year to try to host a meetup, but I would dearly love to meet up with any Berliner MeFites in the area. My schedule is extremely flexible (the only thing on the docket so far are Christmas Eve dinner reservations), and I'm up for most things as long as they don't involve waiting in a line for three hours. Would anyone be interested in a meetup? I'm open to any suggestions for venues, since this is my first time visiting Berlin!!

We're New York mefites visiting for the holidays! We'll be staying in Chattanooga from Jan. 2-4, and we'd like to meet the locals. Let's get together on the evening of the 2nd or 3rd. Suggestions for venues welcome. (Vegan friendly preferred.)

Open invitation to any Portland Mefites who for whatever reason aren't planning to spend the holiday otherwise occupied visiting or being visited by relatives, and are interested in getting together during the weekend of Dec. 22nd - or perhaps 29th? - for a relaxed and calorie-filled nondenominational dinner. I'd be willing to host, as well as roast or smoke meat of some sort. People could bring side-dishes / desserts / drinks - you know, the usual. We can toast the season, have some fun, and avoid sitting home alone in the dark drinking box wine and feeling maudlin and sorry for ourselves! Yay! [more inside]
