Want to jump into the Potomac on Jan 25 to fight climate change?

Hi all! I'm doing the Chesapeake Climate Action Network's "Keep Winter Cold" polar bear plunge again this year. It's a fundraising event for a great organization that does excellent state & local organizing around environmental issues--they're the ones we have to thank for Maryland's fracking ban. I'm wondering if I can coax some local mefites into taking the plunge with me and fundraising as #TeamMetafilter. Anyone interested?
More info about the plunge, and CCAN, can be found here. I'm happy to answer questions if you have any!

I have paid cash money to ensure that you do this.

:D Thank you, Johnny W!

For anyone considering taking the plunge: Still lots of time to decide, and I can personally guarantee it's fun and inspiring as hell to get out there and get super chilly with hundreds of other climate activists.

Also, they always have good food, and plenty of hot drinks, and sometimes people show up in costume because why not. And we all get together and eat lunch at the restaurant next door afterward.

I can't participate this year but I donated and might be able to come cheer for everyone!

brilliantine, thank you so much for your support! I really appreciate it. :-)

Still plenty of time if any folks want to sign up. We're 19 days and a month away.
