Who doesn't need a bacon explosion?

Mon March 14 at 7:30 PM, Paddy Longs
1028 W Diversey Pkwy, Chicago, IL, USA (Map & Directions)
Monday the 14th at 7:00ish, adamdschneider, eamondaly and me will be meeting at Paddy Longs for the bacon explosion (also known as the bacon bomb).
The bacon bomb feeds 6-8, but is also available as sandwiches (that is, we don't need to order the bomb, if there's not enough interest. We can just get sandwiches). The beer list is reportedly good and there are at least three vegetarian options on the menu.
Paddy Longs is on Diversey, at Kenmore, right near the Diversey el stop. Tables are pretty small (if I remember correctly), but the more the merrier. I remember some of you expressed interest at the Goat, but I don't remember specifically who expressed interest. So, if you, too, need some bacon explosion in your life, join us!

Uh, the 22 and 36 are reasonably close, as is the Brown Line. Also 78, of course.
Greta & I will be there.

There is an EXCELLENT chance I may be able to persuade baxter_ilion to get in on this. I mean, come ON, bacon!

I'll definitely be there, and I'm also going to go ahead and add +1 because on one hand, my +1 is often eager to encourage me to go out on my own (to enjoy time home by himself) but on the other hand, adding bacon to the equation will more than likely change typical behavior.

I +1'd even though there is a high probability he will stay home, for exactly the same reasons. MCMN. My +1 is also a vegetarian so the bacon pub doesn't have high appeal.

I just had the single version of this a couple of weeks ago. It ended up being two meals for me, but it was divine. I would love to go to this, but I wouldn't be able to get there until closer to 8. If that's not too late to join in the fun, I'll be there.
The 76 Diversey bus runs right by there.

At this point, it's more a solemn tradition than a meme. Ten thousand years from now, our degenerate descendants will quote The Wicker Man while performing actual human sacrifices.

And prior to the burning itself, there will be the ceremonial punching of the priestess by the sacrificial victim, dressed in a bear costume.

Well, I can get behind that.
So if future generations are looking towards this thread as religious source material -- and frankly, why not? -- let me go on record as withdrawing any possible objections.
Also, bacon.

I'm down. I don't know if I'll be bacon-partaking, but this is less than a mile from me, and is somewhere I haven't been, so I really have no excuse for not going.

...and apparently, I need to see or look up The Wicker Man to be properly prepared for the occasion. Or at least figure out what it is.
Is it like the Pier 1 version of Burning Man?

Hey folks - I'm going to have to pass on tonight. My grandfather died this weekend, and though I had no intention of canceling earlier today -- because, to be honest, it'd be pretty appropriate to raise a glass to Joseph McNamara at Paddy McAnywhere's -- I'm finding that the fitful sleep of the last few nights is catching up with me and I need to rest up before heading downstate tomorrow. Enjoy and eat/drink for me.
