We can definitely try to find a day that works for everyone - mandolin conspiracy & I already compared calendars and Friday July 6th was the soonest we were mutually free. Because summer & Canada Day & etc. we probably won't be able to find an ideal day, but I'm open.

If this is evening hours, I might be able to show up and hang out. I work until 4 p.m. So I'd be there around 6ish or 7ish and onward assuming people are ok for a later hang out situation. I work in St. Catharines, so it's only 1.5 hours away, a short hop.

Once we settle in we're there for hours. We usually shut the place down.

And yes, this is an evening meetup! Sorry that I forgot to specify.
I usually call it for 7 PM since I'm driving in from out of town.

I might actually be able to make this. I'm excited. It's also nor far from my sister's place, well, a fair number of blocks up but nothing ridiculous. She's on Front/Spadina.

Unfortunately, former Toronto MeFite gman will not be with us much longer (MetaTalk). There will be a celebration of life this same evening. I'm going to go and I think it's unlikely I will be able to show up for this meetup too.

I'm guessing that most people here didn't know gman and I would suggest you carry on.

Moving this meetup from Friday evening to Saturday evening (July 7) is on the table as an option so as not to conflict (since a few attenders won't be able to come now).

Both mandolin conspiracy & I can do the Saturday as well as the Friday.

Could the rest of you all who are thinking of coming please weigh in here on whether changing the date from Friday to Saturday either works for you or not? Thanks!

All right, we'll stick to the original plan - and be sorry to miss anyone impacted by the sudden conflict in events that night.
But we'll be there quite late (as usual) for whoever might want to join us after any other commitment they've got.

Oh - I've made a group reservation for 7 PM under the name "Metafilter".
And I asked for our usual spot in the pub (in the other room, away from the bar - at the long banquette with the high tables).

If I'm not already there by 7 PM (Toronto traffic, ugh) just seat yourself =)

My sister lives on Front and Spadina and there's free parking there. It's a half hour walk to the pub. I'm willing to huff it cuz that's not a ridiculous amount of walking, but if someone knows easy parking in that area, let me know. I am also a country kind of bumpkin type of person and I prefer country roads and the busy city overwhelms me. So is it pretty easy to find parking near by or should I play it safe and park where I'm familiar and just walk my ass on over?

Thoughts?

Fizz, I’d probably take the free parking if it were me. Maybe bring some change for the King streetcar ($3.25) in case you don’t feel like hiking.

Yeah, if you've got free parking at her place, use that and and rodlymight suggests, hop the 504 King streetcar from Spadina to Jarvis. Thanks to the King streetcar pilot project, it tends to be zippy-fast these days!

That was fun. It was nice seeing everyone again/meeting people for the first time.

I think the End of the Night Scotch ended up being broken up across a couple of bills (I think?), so there may be fairly exotic accounting involved. :)
