Hi everyone! Shepherd and I will be in town on November 26th so he can take me to the AGO to see the del Toro exhibit. Hang out after?
I propose perhaps lunch and drinks on a languid Sunday afternoon. Most of you know I love craft beer so I'm game for any brewery that serves food (vegan for me, vegetarian for Shepherd) or food first then brewery. We are not staying overnight in the city but taking the GO train back to Oshawa.

I'm down! I live right by there. Sin and Redemption is a good spot and so is The Village Idiot. They are both close by

Plus Baldwin Street and Vegetarian Haven (which has a delicious vegan mushroom stew) is right around the corner. I have young kids so will likely be with them but have a fab birthday trip!

I’ve never been, but Bar Hop Brewco is about a ten minute walk from the AGO at Peter and Richmond. The original Bar Hop at King and Spadina is my favourite craft beer bar that is not a brewery itself and is about another 5 minutes walk from there. And I hear good things about Sin and Redemption.
And this reminds me that I need to see the Del Toro exhibit too!

I have checked Bar Hop's menu and there are a few things I can eat, and of course, looks like a lovely beer list. (I see $5.00 pours on Sunday too!) Is that good for everyone? Is there a preferred time?
I think we are booking our del Toro tix for around 11 am.

I think session sundays is just at the OG Bar Hop on King, while Bar Hop Brewco on Peter does session mondays. Just to clarify, because we have two Bars Hop, which one are we talking about? (and sorry for introducing this confusion)

Nah just wanted to be sure. Unless we really want those $5 pours 😀. Brewco (the one on Peter) is probably better for largish groups, being several times the size of Bar Hop King.

Hey Kitteh, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it - but I just want to let you know that 3 hours wasn't enough for me to get through the whole exhibit. You may be cutting it close if your tix are at 11 and you want to meet at 1:30?
There's a lot to see, and it's crowded on weekends. There are fun things to play with, like paging through his beautifully illustrated notebooks and drawing your own monsters. There are small things and large things on walls and in the cases, and it's hard to read the captions if you want to, because they are written small in white on red, and people get in the way. I needed a lot of time just to look at every detail in Kate Hawley's costumes!

Sin and Redemption is right by the AGO and has a large-ish beer selection, but might be crowded.
