First Friday in Richmond VA

Fri November 3 at 5:30 PM, The bar at Lemaire in the Jefferson Hotel
101 W Franklin St, Richmond, VA, USA (Map & Directions)
Drinks, food and art. I will be in Richmond for First Friday and want to explore the heck out of it on foot. Lemaire at the Jefferson Hotel has fancy happy hour in the bar from 4 to 7 pm. Appetizers 3 for $20, wine and drink specials. The Lantern Parade starts at 7 pm. There are light sculptures around the Arts District. If there's later night blues music that would be even more swell. Come wander with me.
I may edit the meeting point and time to put us closer to the start of the Lantern Parade.

Unfortunately I'll be out of town for work.

I wish I wasn't already booked that night, because Richmond has been overdue for a meetup. I was just at the Jefferson Hotel last weekend, in fact, because my band was booked there for a wedding reception gig. The complimentary smoked peanuts they serve (used to? I haven't been for a drink there in a while) at the bar are an acquired taste.

I'll be out of town on business too. I'd definitely be up for a meetup if I'm ever in town - it's been way too long.

I'm moving to Richmond from Fredericksburg in November - if nobody else puts a meetup on the calendar I'll do one just so I can meet some of the locals. We'll be living a little NW of downtown, essentially right on the line between Glen Allen and Richmond.

Local knowledge on where to find blues / funk / bagpipe music in formerly smokefilled bars?

I might actually be able to make this. I've never been to a meetup.

Hey 4ster just read your reply. Sorry.

It was a splendid meetup for one. I inflicted conversation on my neighbors at the bar. $5 old fashioneds in heavy cut glasses were on offer and the 3 for $20 appetizer special was not offered but was available on request. The smoky peanuts are addictive. The place is a beautiful weird people watch.

The Jefferson Hotel itself - wow. I was dressed for GOTV door knocking not posh hotel bar drinking but I pulled up my socks and smoothed down my hair and persevered.
