Bliss do a nice range of hot and cold drinks, sweet and savoury snacks, and meals. (Menu here.)

They have a gorgeous shady, leafy garden courtyard, and are very central (in Compton Street, just off Gouger Street, a minute’s walk from Adelaide’s Central Market.)

Sounds fun! I am not emotionally capable of making social plans this far ahead of time, but myself and my partner are definite "maybe"s. :) Meaning, in principle we'd love to, and if it still seems doable the week of, we're there.

(By the way, singing green stars, how'd the computer work out? was it your battery? I hope my recommendation didn't lead you astray...)

Hurrah!

forza, they charged the computer overnight and did I-don't-know-what to it, and it's working now, but they said it would need a new battery to keep working indefinitely (running it off mains power with a dead battery leads to overheating = can cause damage.)

I ordered the new battery last Friday, so it should arrive today or tomorrow.

The total cost was $25 for them to diagnose + $95 for new battery, which I feel was reasonable. So, thank you! It was a good recommendation. ^_^

Glad it worked out. :)

In case this is still on, I thought I'd let you know I don't think we'll be able to make it. Have to remain home to take care of some things. Sorry.

Why is this showing up as a Portland, OR, USA meetup? That's weird. It's clearly not one.

All cancelled meetups become property of The MetaFilter Network Inc. and are moved to Portland, where they are converted through a patented process into a single-malt scotch, and stored somewhere on or inside cortex's body.
