Pittsburgh Welcome Wagon

Hi All, I've recently moved to Pittsburgh and wanted to test the MeFi waters out here. I'm here for a grad program but other than my little school cohort, I don't know anyone in the city. I'd love to organize a low key meet and greet, maybe a Friday evening at Arsenal Cider House? I'm open to suggestions. Mostly I'd just love to say hi to my new pgh neighbors!
We like Arsenal and it's on our way home from work so that could work for us.

Sounds great! I'm free on 10/7, 10/21, or 10/28 - would those work for anyone else?

I could come with some notice, as I would be trekking over from Ohio.

I'm a maybe depending on time/place, but wanted to make sure to at least poke my head in and say welcome to our city, Katine. We're happy to have you. (No need to name the grad program, but if by chance it's at CMU and you need any tips/pointers about Where Are Buildings on Campus or What Is With The Weird Fence Traditions or whatever, hit me up.)

Yay! Welcome to Pittsburgh! We'd be date dependent, but interested - it's been far too long since we've seen everyone. I know that 10/7 is out (Ben Folds show) but interested...

I'm out 10/21 due to Plans, but a possible for most other values of Soon.
Also, as Stacey said, welcome to Pittsburgh! Feel similarly free to hit me up if you're at Pitt and need help with assorted what-the-hell...

That's awesome! Welcome to Pittsburgh! I've never been to Arsenal Cider House, but their outdoor garden looks awesome from the outside. :) I'm out of town on 10/7, but I think I'm pretty flexible otherwise.

Hello and welcome to Pittsburgh. I moved here to go to grad school at CMU 12 years ago and just never left. It's a comfy city to live in.
I can't do the 28th, but I'm available otherwise.

As far as I know, we're available any of those dates.
I have Alison beat, I moved here so my ex could go to grad school 27 years ago and just never left. It's a pretty common pattern around here.

I don't think so. It looks like the 28th works slightly better for people. How do we make this go from proposed to scheduled?

I've just moved to PGH, so if there's a meetup, well I don't know anyone out here, but I'd try to make it!

How about this Friday, November 4, 7:30, at Arsenal Cider House? They have something called the "Zuzu Bone-Dry Blueberry" on tap which sounds bonkers.

The Blueberry is, indeed, bonkers.
I can stop by for a bit on Friday. I say let's make this official! I'll message Katine to see if she can switch this from Proposed to Confirmed.

Sorry I can't make it, guys!
A little levity - there's a Trump sign on the Oakland onramp to the Parkway East. Right next to it, someone has put up a sign in the same color and font, stating, "IS A JAGOFF."
