He's lying. The last time I saw Afroblanco at a meetup, he'd brought his own vegan, organic burrito and pissed off the bartender by asking lots of questions about the hops used in the beer on tap. Then he insisted that we all try his gluten-free, refined sugar-free carob cookies.

It's kinda hilarious, actually. Up until I moved to NYC, I was like the biggest hippie ever. I'll never forget walking through Golden Gate Park for the first time. Passing by the big drum circle on Hippie Hill, I thought to myself, "If I'd moved here after college instead of NYC, my life would be very different right now..."

Oh! And I should mention -- I'll actually be in town from 12/25 to 01/02. So even if you can't make it to the meetup, shoot me a MeMail and we can hang out! The whole purpose of this visit is to hang out w/ folks and do fun stuff, so I'd be totally down for a random lunch/dinner/coffee/drinks/air hockey/museum visit/whatever.
