Cheap boozables with cash at 12st alehouse before 8pm. (like $3-5 well and draft beerz)

I'm thinking east village, at the 12st ale house, which has rediculously cheap drinks before 8pm if you have cash, and is usually pretty quiet until about 11-12pm at which point it randomly becomes busy.
Any objections?

I have been busy and out of town and sick and missed a bunch of meetups I've wanted to attend. Next week seems like a good time to break that.

What sort of food are you in the mood for? and which train station are you walking from? If from Union Sq., I recommend Dos Toros Taqueria at 13th and 4th ave, or if you want dumplings, Plump Dumpling on 11th and 2nd ave. There's the amazing (vegetarian) Angelica Kitchen across the st, but I don't recall if they do takeout and I seem to recall them on the spendier side.
It's the east village, there's a ton of food... sort of hard to recommend something without knowing what you're in the mood for, or how far you want to walk.

I'll be coming from 20th & Broadway, so, I'll probably just walk all the way there, it doesn't seem worth bothering with the L train just to get from Union Sq to 3rd Ave. Dumplings sound good, thanks.
