Wed November 6 at 6:30 PM, American Museum of Natural History
200 Central Park West, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
The natural history museum does a monthly science lecture with cocktails. This months is called "The Story of the Human Body." It starts at 7 but to get seats it's better to be there when the doors open at 6:30. The event is free but you can register at the link below. If anyone is interested you can read more about it here and perhaps we can get drinks after.

OMG I used to do these all the time. but I have plans on the 6th :( I highly recommend these!

(they did a space and jazz series two years ago that was amazing- cocktails, snacks and lecture in the planetarium cube thing, followed by a jazz band playing while you roamed the exhibit. it was rediculously awesome)

This was fun last year! I don't know if I can make it yet but I'd like to.

Down as a 'Maybe' until I get around to actually registering, but I'm almost definitely a 'Yes.'

Ok I tried registering, which i should have done before posting this meetup, and it seems they're out of tickets. I'm not sure if its worth going and seeing if they have extras at the door or if we just want to try again for next month.

Good news! I called them and they've released more tickets. I've reserved two if someone needs one.

This sounds awesome, but I have pre-existing plans. If you post one of these again in the future, though, I'd probably go!

SpaceWarp do you still have that extra ticket? They were out again when I checked but I'll meet you there if you do!

Wretch, yup I still have the extra one you're welcome to it.

Are they still having people line up in the room with the big dugout canoe? We can try to meet there.

Still locked out though the site says registration is open. I may try to call after 10.

OK, I called and they said that while the reservation system is booked solid, you can still show up. It's really more of a gauge to assess how many people are coming.

That said, I recommend getting there early, because the last time I went, it was extremely crowded SRO.

I have a class this afternoon but I'm going to try to get there for 6:40 ish. If i'm not there by then you might want to go in and snag seats.

I just got some skuzz on my shirt moving a tank in the lab, so depending on when I get out of the office I might swing by my apt to change, which would also put me there around 6:40ish. I'll update from my phone as needed.
