Fri April 5 at 8:00 PM, 92nd Street Y Tribeca
200 Hudson Street, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
It was recently announced that the 92nd Street Y is officially closing its downtown venue, where "Meet The Lady" and other fine arts programs have had their homes for years. That means that this Friday's installment, Meet The Lady Is Watching You! (a tribute to stalker cinema) is your last chance to catch erstwhile mefite hermitosis's lady-centric variety show, which grew out of a MeFi Project back in 2010 and has since welcomed guests such as Amy Sedaris, Nellie McKay, and Beth Grant.
The show will be blend of live performances, obscure film clips, and special guest appearances—with a killer after-party to follow.

Featuring:

• Burlesque performances by Dangrrr Doll and Iris Explosion
• Presentation by Mike Berlin, managing editor of OUT Magazine
• Presentation by Peter J. Cook, field producer of the TV series "Stalked: Someone's Watching"
• Q&A with Alana McNair and Kate Wilkinson, co-stars and -creators of the 2005 off-Broadway hit "Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy"
• Sinister fragrance samples by Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
• After-party with DJ Accident Report and the Warm Leatherettes

92YTribeca is walking distance from the A,C,E,1,N,Q, and R trains. There's a bar in the mainstage area, and the cafe sells food which you can bring in as well.

Here's a great article on Fangoria that really captures the creative insight into pop archetypes that makes these shows must-attend for me:
“It’s one of those areas where there’s a vast difference between men’s roles and women’s roles,” says Tom Blunt, the series’ creator and host. “Male stalkers are perverts, but women just have A LOT OF FEELINGS, amiright? However, the male obsessive stereotype has changed very little since the 1970s, while the female stereotype has mutated into this whole new wild creature.”

I went to Frenemies and Nemesisters and it was a lot of fun! I'll still be in Connecticut while this one's happening... too bad.

Would I need to buy a ticket in advance? If I decided to go at the last possible moment, would I be SOL?

I generally buy tickets in advance but have had some success buying them at the door. This might be more packed than usual because it's the last show at the venue.

I bought a ticket a while back. I typically do, and it would be a good idea this time since it is the last one.

I will really, really miss this!

I got my ticket already too, and am likewise bummed about the closure. (Also, I had this in my calendar for Thursday for some reason, so, I'm really glad this got posted to IRL and saved me from showing up downtown on the wrong night.)

So bummed that it's this Friday and not next week, it sounds like a great show!

Well, that was fun, as always. And, surprise announcement mid-show, there will be one more Meet The Lady show at 92Y Tribeca, sometime in June, so, anyone who missed tonight has one more last chance to see it.

(Also, hermitosis will be appearing in the "Kevin Geeks Out" 92Y shows April All-Stars on 4/19 and Rip Off Cinema on 5/10)

Does anyone remember those three phrases? All I've got is "optimistic shoulders".

The other two were 'carnal nature & 'charismatic invertebrate', I think.

Yeah, it was "charismatic megavertebrate."

Can't wait for the show in June!
