Fri December 21 at 9:00 PM, Penn Museum
3260 South St, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA (Map & Directions)
Fancy a party with a crystal ball at the end of the world? The Young Friends of the Penn Museum (disclosure: I'm on the committee!) are putting on a shindig to celebrate the final countdown to the end of the baktun...and to dance in the next. Circus performers, one free drink, lots of dancing, super sweet Egyptian and Chinese artifacts....
Tickets are $40; details are here. If it's free, I'm thinking a meetup near Sekhmet if anyone wants to hear the story about how beer saved the (Egyptian) world! I am the worst dancer but I think this is going to be awesome.

Please do not mention aliens. This is not the actual end of the world; it is at a museum with a sense of humor.

If my Friday plans fall through, this is a good option.
