State Fair or Where

Will be in Minneapolis from 8/30-9/3 hanging out, visiting, and attending the State Fair. Anyone up for a State Fair meet up or barring that somewhere else during these dates?
Early evening until the Grandstand show seems like enough

I'm not really a state fair enthusiast, so I'm always up for some appetizers and a few beers near downtown Mpls
