I'm coming back to Chicago in June and can get together the 16th.
Have you found a karaoke joint to replace the Bongo Room? I'm ok with going somewhere else for those who don't like singing.
Some kind of meetup at some point in time sounds perfectly dandy.

It is the Bong Ho which is gone. Bongo Room is still serving the fancyass pancakes. Meet-up could be good.

Our June is a bit of a mess, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to do anything on the 16th. I'll keep checking in, though!

How about Ethiopian at Demera?
I'm coming in a few days earlier with my father for a meeting and plan to go for pizza then...the only deep dish in LA is Pizzeria Uno. :-S

My girlfriend's folks are in town that weekend, but I believe they are all going out of town that night, and Demera is very close to me and delicious, so I'm in.

This sounds intriguing. I've never had Ethiopian food, and should be free that evening. Count me probably in.

For those who haven't had Ethiopian:
Like Moroccan, it's eaten with hands. It is served on and with a pancake called injera (traditionally made with a gluten free grain called teff). Rip off pieces of the injera to scoop up what is on and (and later soaked into) the base pancake.

Well, girlfriend's parents' plans changed, so now everyone is in town tonight. Which...means I am also out. :-/ I'm sorry for such last minute changes.

I'm very much probably out. Today is a day of stupidness. I had to wake up easily to return a dented (wtf) microwave to Costco before it got mobbed, then dropped a gallon of milk on the ground, causing it to burst open and douse my lower half in dairy, then I got home and sliced into a finger vein cutting some bread for a sandwich. Finger is still bleeding two hours later. I also need to get my apartment puppy-ready by Tuesday. (That's not a negative, but it'll probably take twice as long with this friggin hole in my finger.)
