This sounds excellent - have no clear idea how to get there from Cambridge, but sounds like a great exhibition.

I think the easiest way to get to Chelmsford from Cambridge is by getting the train from Cambridge to King's Cross, and then getting a train at Liverpool Street to Chelmsford. They leave every half hour or so and take about half hour to get there, too. This exhibition's about a five/ten minute walk from the station.

You can also get a train to Ipswich and then come down to Chelmsford from there, but the trains are probably less frequent. I've never done it that way so I'm not sure how long it would take.

I am totally up for this, I'm about 25 miles from Chelmsford. I'll drive to the out of town car park and then take the Park & Ride bus into Chelmsford.

I can give a lift to up to 3 MeFites if they can get to my station at the eastern end of the Central Line. So, Augenblick, you could get the train from Cambridge to Liverpool St (direct trains run about every hour), then the Central Line out my way.

essexjan, I would meet you at the end of the Central Line.

Okay, so who's still up for this? As I said above, my offer to drive people from my station at the eastern end of the Central Line still stands, but be aware that there are planned engineering works, so no Central Line between Marble Arch & Bethnal Green. You can pick it up at at Stratford though.

At the moment, if there are no takers for the ride, I'm inclined to go to this exhibition on the 22nd instead, as I have a day off.
