Hello Portland Metafilterers! This is your occasional reminder that we have a small house and there are always a rotating handful of people in it from 6-8pm on Saturdays. There's often a tween, ~~and occasionally a cat~~ and a 9-lb dog. Bring your own dishes (by which I mean, e.g., bowl/fork/teacup). Contact me if you need the address or want to confirm or want to request "no cat" (the cat only lives a block away so it's an easy request to fulfill). Also - contact me if you want an invite to a Thanksgiving dinner in a North Portland household (with two cats) that acknowledges the genocide of Native Americans by colonists.

We host community dinners at our place on Saturday evenings. You're invited. Contact me for the exact address if needed. Dinner runs 6-8pm, BYO dishes (eg. plate and/or bowl, spoon and/or fork, teacup). We're cooking enough for everyone already anyway, but you're welcome to bring a dish if you want. We cook vegan these days, and we make some tasty food.

Hello Seattle! This is my first visit but I don't really know the area at all. I will be in town Aug 30th-Sept 4th and I'd love to meet some other MeFis, maybe whilst drinking some good beers or eating some good (vegetarian friendly) food in the process. Edit: after some discussion I had chosen Highline, but they added a show to their calendar on Sat 9/2 so that option is out. Let's meet up instead at The Stumbling Monk for some board games and beers at 8pm. I am also going to check out Plum Vegan Bistro before for dinner then walk over if anyone would like to join! (1429 12th Ave at 6:30ish).

DC FOODIES Go Into the Woods

As promised: our rare foods tour has taken us to many meaty delights, so now it's time to visit some vegetables! Let's go to the Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant weekend buffet in Langley Park, MD later this month. I'd like to do this on a weekend because that's when they have buffet-style dining to maximize the amount of delicious foods we can try. Right now, my schedule is open both the 14th-15th and the 21st-22nd. I know folks may be traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, so tell me what date(s) work(s) for you! Doing it on the 14th to converge with a MeFi family occasion! Woodlands is accessible by bus from the Silver Spring, Takoma Park, and Ft. Totten metro stations.
