People of northern Virginia! Too long have the meetups in our area been centralized in the District of Columbia. Too long have we been asked to take 45-minute Metro rides on weeknights if we want to interact with our fellow MeFites! But on March 15, we take back our region! Or at least meet up for dinner and/or drinks in Herndon!

Chinese New Year is Sunday February 10, and that seems like a fine week to grab some dim sum. SuperStar is good but is also a cool 2+ hours EACH WAY on public transportation from Boulder. Newport in Broomfield is OK, and has the bonus of being in the parking lot of Pacific Ocean Market ... so a meetup outing can multitask as a grocery shopping expedition!
Dates and dim sum suggestions solicited ... please be mindful of the carless among us! (I know all the recent Front Range meetups have been in Denver, but Boulder has no dim sum to speak of.) Thanks, hope to break bao with you soon!

My wife (dancingfruitbat) my adorable 1-year-old son and I are going to be in San Diego from February 1st through February 5th and would love to meet up with some MeFites while we're visiting. Except for Friday night we don't have set plans in the evening although we will be meeting with a lot of relatives. The first two nights we will be in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood and then moving on to Pacific Beach for the next few days. We've gotten really excited reading the
Convoy Street blog and would be especially interested in a meetup there!

Some MeFites were together last night and decided it was time to call a meetup on the east side of town, in particular at
Tunnicliff's, which is relatively spacious, quiet, and near the metro. MrMoonPie suggested we meet around inauguration time. Perhaps a weeknight the week prior? The inauguration is on Monday, January 21.

Muchmore's is having a comedy thing, and our beloved (and be-liked and be-"he's okay I guess"ed) mefite Greg Nog will be one of the people doing a comedy thing. I hope everyone finds this fun and has a fun time. It costs $5 which is about as much fun as I plan to have. There is cheap beer there.

I'm so excited that
my trip to Berlin is finally here! I will be staying in the Prenzlauer Berg area between December 22-28. I realize this is a very sticky time of year to try to host a meetup, but I would dearly love to meet up with any Berliner MeFites in the area. My schedule is extremely flexible (the only thing on the docket so far are Christmas Eve dinner reservations), and I'm up for most things as long as they don't involve waiting in a line for three hours.
Would anyone be interested in a meetup? I'm open to any suggestions for venues, since this is my first time visiting Berlin!!

I'm having people over for board games during the holidays, and I'd love to have even more people. We have heavy games, light games, cooperative games. Gaming will take place in franglais, depending on who shows up. The start time is probably 2, but may be a bit earlier or later.
